Urgup
Urgup, situated at the skirts of a high peak that looks like a castle, is probably the most important tourism attraction site of the entire Cappadocia region for its cave hotels and authentic wine factories. This is the perfect place to spend a romantic night. Initially built on a rock cliff where stone-carved houses would accommodate the inhabitants, the city came down to the plain where it is situated now due to several landslides and continuous erosion that are characteristic to the region.
Modern buildings are built with the local stone so that the architectural identity of the region is not spoiled. Recent years saw several entrepreneurs but a cave house to transform it into a boutique hotel, or a wine house, or else, a bar.
While climbing up to Esbelli Street, you can see marvellous Urgup Mansions, on which was used for a Tv series recently in Turkey .
Temenni peak is one of the highest points in all Urgup. Here you can visit the tomb os Seljuk Sultan and watch the city from above. There are also beatuifull Greek mansions in the region that are mostly gathered around Mustafapasa ( originally Sinasos, only 5 km from Urgup).
