Buzluk
Cave
Cave is located 11 km away
from Elazig city center. Cave is known
as “buzluk “ which means freezer in Turkish due
to the ice columns found in the cave even in the summer months . History of the Cave as
old as the Harput district and goes back to Urartians period.
Due to the geomorphological structure . climatic conditions and air circulations ; natural stalactites , stalagmites and layers
of ice in some sections are composed . Interestengly
on the contrary in winters ; warm air
streams are occurred in the cave.
Cave is one of the main tourist attractions in Elazig city
. Many adventurers and nature fans are
coming to visit this beautiful cave.
