Lentil Patties ( Mercimek Koftesi )

Ingredients  (6 Servings) – 40 minutes

2 Cups red lentils

1.5 cups fine bulgur

1 cup of oil

1 onion

3 tablespoons tomato paste

Half bunch of parsley

Half bunch of Spring onion

salt

Directions / How to make Lentil Patties ?

* Clean and wash the lentils

* take the lentils into a saucepan and pour enough water to cover its top.

*  Boil the lentils over a middle fire, until they are finely softened

* Stop the fire and take the saucepan away

* wash the bulgur and add it into saucepan to lentils.

* Stir both bulgur and lentils and close the lid.

* When the bulgur in the saucepan softened opened the lid and leave it for cooling.

* Heat the oil in a frypan

* Chop the onion and fry them in the heated frypan untill they have the pink colour.

* Add tomato paste and stir in the pan for a while.

* Add the mixture with onion to the Saucepan into lentils and Bulgurs

* Knead all in the saucepan

* Chop the parsley and spring onions and add to the Saucepan

* Sprinkle some salt and knead all.

* Make patties with your hands

* Your lentil patties are ready! ( Decorate the table with lettuce leaves and lemon pieces)
