The Tomb of Dede Korkut

 

A tomb, located in the south eastern part and  39 km away from the Bayburt city center.

 

It can be understood by the architectural style and construction methods , the Tomb dates back to very old times.

It is said that the tomb belong to  a man who is also known as the ancester of Turks. He is also a narrator and story writer. His Stories about The Turks are delivered today .

 

The number 718 which is  written above the tomb stone is thought to be related with the Dede korkut.

 

Tomb is a square planned structure which is   built on a square base .  It rises upwards in a slim –long shape. The tomb is covered with a high dome. There is a round – arched entrance door and a small loophole window can be seen over the entrance gate.
