Due to the elevation difference  between the Halilrifatpasa  and  Mithatpasa Street  access between too streets were very difficult . In order to facilitate access between the two districts , a lift built in 1907 by a Jewish businessman called Matt Levi .

Halilrifatpasa district located in an altitude of 50 meters were only able to be reached by 155 staircase.

Two districts are combined with lift tower which was built to make an easier access to both sides.

The tower has two elevators, the  one  the left  was working with steam and the right elevator was working with electricity.

Restoration works carried out in 1985 made the second elevator ( the one working with steam ) work with electricity.  The second improvement and  restoration was  made in 1994  according to Street environments.

Historical Elevator Building’s location is  in the street where  also the world-famous singer Dario Moreno lived so  the interest in this street twice increases with two popular  important symbols.

There is now a famous restaurant serving unforgettable nights with wonderfull foods and hundreds of different wine selections  . Of course the view from Asansor restaurant takes an important role in this unforgettable night.

If you are in Konak district take  a taxi it is in a very close point to konak yet if you are in karsiyaka , buca , gaziemir districts you need to take a bus first to get Konak and If you are in bornova district you can either take a bus or much more easier way Metro. Just stop in Konak metro station .
