Ionia
Ionia located in Izmir , aydin sea coasts and island of chios and
samos.
It was founded by Ioanians who escaped from the invasions of
Dorians to Greece in 11th century B.C
Ionia was formed from 12 sites;
Ephesus , colophon ,
miletus ,lebedos , island of chios and samos ,klazomenia , erythrai , phokai ,
teos , priene , smyrna
Ioanians were the seamen .
Ionians main living source was
from marine . The were moving googs from Ioanian costs to mediterrenaean
ports. Ionia is the cradle of Ioan
philosophy . Many famous philosophers and scientists raised in ionia.
Thales is one of the most important one among these
philosophers. Thales which held that the
world started from water. Aristotle considered this belief roughly equivalent
to the later ideas of Anaximenes, who held that everything in the world was
composed of air.They also searched a simple material-form behind the
appearances of things (origin) and this conception had a great influence on the
early archaic art in Greece.
Ionians also were very developed and civilized in
architecture and sculpturing. Artemis temple in ephesus and temple of hera in samson is the master piece
samples of the ioanians
They colonized many different districts from black sea ,
greece and Sicilie; such as;
Abydos, kyzikos , Sinope , Amisos, Kerazus , Trapezos colonies of ionians.
The richest sites of ionia were ephesos , smyrna , miletos ,
khios during the roman empire
When the greeks were suffering from the effects of the
dorian invasions Ioanians had settled the supreme civilizations of ancient era. The master pieces and epics ( Illiad and odyssey ) of homeros from smyrna helps
