Kusadasi Travel guide

Kusadasi is one of the most important tourism center ;  The location of  Kusadasi is a hub where Izmir, selcuk , Pamucak , Virgin Mary , Pamukkale , Didyma , Bodrum , Marmaris meet. After Istanbul , Kusadasi has the second biggest port welcoming the Cruises.  It is supposed to be founded on a peninsula known Yilanci burnu as a part of Glorious Ancient site Ephesus and named  Neopolice ( new city ). Persians , Athenaians, Macedonians had ruled the area .

Kusadasi started to be ruled by the Roman Empire  64 B.C. Kusadasi became a new port for the ephesus merchants after the ephesus port was shut by the aluvions brought from the Meander river.  Kusadasi started to be mentioned Scalanova ( New port ) by the Venecian Merchants.

Ottoman empire captured the sovereignity of  the area 1413 . City reconstructed by the Grand vizier Mehmet Pasha. The castle in the pigeon island  which is the symbol of the city was built in 1834. Name of Kusadasi ( island of birds) is derived from this island and castle.

Kusadasi is very close to Adnan Menderes airport and has hundreds of thousands accomodation facilities. Kusadasi attracts thousands of people with it’s cultural , historical and natural beauties
