A great castle located 6 km on the southeast of Anamur by the seaside, can be easily reached by following the signs on the Silifke – Anamur highway. 

Castle covers a land of 23.500 m², first built by Romans in the 6th century A.D and later it was expanded with the extensions made by the following empires such as Byzantine, Seljuks and Ottomans.

Mamure Castle is one of the very well preserved anatolian castle. There is  also a historic mosque with one minaret is available in the castle where  a small part is still opened for prayers.
