Heaven Pit
A large pit,which occured, as a result of a collapse of a roof by a chemical erosion caused by an underground stream.
The deepest partof the pit reaches 135 m. There is a cave available on the South side of the pit where also a chapel located on the mouth of the cave.
4 lined inscription on the entrance door of the church says that the church was dedicated to Virgin Mary by a pious man name Paulus in the 5th century A.D
Hell Pit
Hell pit (Cehennem Cukuru ) which located 75 m on the northern side of Heaven pit also occured as same as heaven pit.
The depth of thepit is 128 m. Due to the concave edges of the pit it is not possible to get in the cave.
According to Greek Mythology; Zeus defeated the Hundred-headed dragon ( Typhon ), which throws flames, in here and jailed that Dragon in Hell pit for a while before he jail it forever to Etna Volcano.
