What is PADI ?
PADI (Professional Association
of Diving instructors) is the world's largest diving membership organization
established for the entertainment / sporting purposes .
Diving companies,
countryside activities, academic institutes, instruction trainers, dive educators,
divers, snorkellers and other water sports fans are the members
of huge Padi organization.
Professional PADI Members (dive
centers, resorts, educational facilities, instructors,
assistant instructors and divemasters), are providing training to divers from all
around the world and as a result of these effective trainings almost one
million certificates are given to people who are stepping ahead in diving
world.
PADI Professionals aimed
to give highest standarts in diving training, safety and customer relations . As well as the
highest standarts Padi professionals give everybody a chance to discover ,
explore and participate the adventure of underwater life.
There are many international PADI
center, three of them (PADI Europe, PADI International Ltd and PADI
Nordic) covers 30 countries directly affected by European standards.
Turkey is a part of PADI INTERNATIONAL
where the central office is situated in United
Kingdom.
Temporary Certificates are
sent here, and prepared and sent back to the student.
Starting age for PADI
training is 8 however according to the law in Turkey age to start
traignin is 14. Therefore PADI's children's
programs can not be applied in Turkey.
The one who already has Padi
license and certificates also get the license from CMAS whilst TSSF obligated the CMAS certificate to be able
to dive in seas of Turkey .
In terms of lecture CMAS and
PADI do not show much difference. The number of PADI scuba diving
courses are a bit higher than CMAS.
Materials are compulsory in the courses
and the costs of these materials are reflected in prices.
