Pinara  is an ancient Lycian site today located 45 km away from Fethiye . Site located very close to a village called minaret when you get this village locals will show you where the pinara  situated.  Pinara means circular in lycian language

Pinara  is one of the privileged site having 3 voting rights.  These rights  and the findings prove that the pinara was an important site for Lycian civilization.

A cult was occurred in pinara site to the memory of pandarus who was the ally of Trojans during the trojan war therefore we understand pandarus was a local from pinara site.

You can start  your tour to pinara from the cottage of watchman , if you walk to the western part from the cottage you will meet with numerous lycian type of tombs. The biggest one is the one depicting the  pinara site with beautifull  detailed descriptions. If you walk up from this tomb you will reach the street  dividing the site. The theater and odeon in the site almost reached today without any deterioration.

Pinara  is a very interestingly not visited and not  a popular cultural site when we compared to  other sites around.  The  main reason for this indifference is the location and difficulty to get pinara and insufficient and inefficient promotion of the site however if you are interested in history and antique sites pinara is a wonderfull option with its intact structures .

The only  way to get pinara is having a car and drive 45 km in the direction of  fethiye to esen road.
