Mustafa kemal was sent to Diyarbakir headquarters as general commander  in 1916. Pre –investigators of the area had looked for a comfortable place to rest and work and a mansion outside of the city walls called semanoglu was chosen. This mansion carries the features of typical diyarbakir houses .  Mansion  has two floors  and built by black –white wallstones. Building was gifted to Ataturk from the Diyarbakir municipality in 1926 . Beside its historical siginificanse  mansion attracts many visitors with its view and weather conditions.
