Usak
Usak which is called as "Temenothyrea"
in ancient times located in a land takes part Inner Aegean region that connects the Western
and Central Anatolia regions.
First
settlement in the area dates back
to BC 4000 and since the bronze
age continuous life seen in the Usak region.
Region was dominated by Phrygia, then the Lydia and ruled by Alexander the Great in
BC330 . Later on the Roman Empire in
189, A.D captured the area and ruled for centuries. When the Roman
empire divided to two parts in 395 Eastern Rome became the ruler .
Region was exchanged between
Byzantine and Seldjuks in 1071 . Region later became a soil of Ottoman
empire in 1429 and since 1953 Usak officialy a province of republic of Turkey.
